Starr has always loved art and photography and used it as a creative outlet while growing up. She is a native Southern Californian, but has spent half her life in the outskirts of Atlanta and has embraced life in the South.

Starr’s West Coast influences, mixed with her Atlanta roots, have really helped her to develop a unique style. She has developed a love and fascination with abandoned places, especially those in an urban setting. Starr believes rust and decay tell the story of how time and nature will always take its toll, but beyond that, there is a story of life that once was. Sometimes haunting and sometimes beautiful, Starr’s art walks the line between modern and vintage. It is telling the story of life by displaying the absence of life. It is in this enigma that Starr finds her true inspiration.

Starr also cultivates the artist in her through her love of Urban Exploration. This has heavily influenced the style of many of Starr’s photo shoots. She is always in search of a new location that may provide a bit of “Shock and Ahh” to any assignment.

In 2003, Starr graduated from Georgia State University with a BA in Sociology. In 2009, Starr went back to school, to become professionally trained in photography, and earned “Best Portfolio” upon completing the Commercial Photography degree program at Gwinnett Technical College in 2011.

Starr earned the Gold medal at Skills USA State competition and the Silver medal at Skills USA National Competition. In the Fall of 2011 Starr won Second place in the Portrait section of the Professional Photographers of America Summer Shootout National Competition. Starr’s work has been published in David Atlanta Magazine.

Some of Starr’s favorite clients that she has worked for include Phoenix, from the show RuPaul’s Drag race, Mode Salon and Color Studio, and Blushing Blooms by Brennen.

She continues working as an independent photographer for various clients in Atlanta, Johns Creek, Alpharetta, Roswell, Duluth, Milton, Cumming and many High Schools seniors in the area.
